Former presidential candidate Prof Ole Kiyiapi has weighed in on Kenyan governors seeking treatment abroad instead of in local health facilities.
In a critical tweet Friday, the renowned scholar wondered for whom health facilities in the countries were build build for if the governors were going abroad for treatment.
Ole Kiyiapi appeared to suggest that the governors lacked confidence in the local health facilities hence their trips abroad.
"YES, we must ask Governors this question: if they must get treatment abroad, for whom are the health facilities they build? Is it impossible to have a modern, state of the art referral hospital in each county? Why can't we? Don't believe in ourselves or our systems?" Ole Kiyiapi's tweet read.
His hard-hitting tweet comes as Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso undergoes treatment at a London hospital for an undisclosed illness.
