While departing from Nakuru after a three-day prayer crusade on Tuesday, controversial preacher Prophet David Owuor told his followers he was leaving for Mombasa to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The flamboyant preacher claimed the Head of State had invited him to the State House and had sent a chopper to pick him.
"Let me go, the president of the Republic of Kenya has sent me a helicopter," Owuor said speaking outside Merica Hotel.
But a renowned local blogger is now accusing the Repentance and Holiness Ministry leader of 'lying' to Kenyans that the helicopter was sent by the president.
According to Robert Alai, the aircraft belongs to National Assembly Majority Leader and Garissa Township MP Aden Duale and had been hired by Owuor and not State House as he claimed.
In a tweet on Wednesday, the blogger hit out at the preacher for dragging Uhuru's name into the saga with intention to deceive Kenyans that the Head of State is also his follower.
"This chopper registration 5Y-HNB is owned by @HonAdenDuale . The chopper was hired by Owuor’s church (Kings Outreach). President @UKenyatta ’s name was being mentioned by conman Owuor to further brainwash his blind followers that Uhuru also worship him," Alai posted.
Kenyans on social media have been accusing Uhuru of promoting fake church business over reports he had dispatched a chopper pick Owuor from Nakuru.
