Raila Odinga Junior has found himself on the receiving end after he claimed that Deputy President (DP) William Ruto had hatched a plan to cause division in his family.
The youngest son of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga alleged that Ruto lured him to the government, together with his elder sister Winnie Odinga, by offering them plum positions.
Referring to him as 'Arap Mashamba', he said Ruto made the offer through a senior diplomat, which they both declined.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Junior claimed the DP's motive was to cause bad blood between Raila and his children.
"The truth is that in January 2018 Arap Mashamba tried to entice Winnie Odinga and I with high level government positions, a kind of divide and rule tactic using a very senior Ambassador to put pressure but obviously we told him off and (referred him back) to the source," Junior posted.
However, renowned blogger Robert Alai dismissed the claims, saying Raila's son is a 'complete buffoon' who the DP would never consider for a State job.
"Even complete buffoons are now claiming to have been offered government appointments. Raila Junior really offered government appointment? Ruto is consistent on one thing, he always goes for principled men not shemales," Alai tweeted.
The DP or his office is yet to respond to Junior's allegations.
