Over the weekend, Ruto accused Raila of betrayal with the ODM leader slamming the DP over 2017 elections.

"He keeps telling us that some of us were defeated. Which elections is he talking about?" Raila asked in Gusii stadium.

At Kakamega on Saturday, Ruto narrated how Raila grabbed PM position from him after the 2007 elections.

And Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei now says Rift Valley leaders are ready to face Raila in ballot in 2022, the Nation has reported.

“It is not a surprise at all. We have all along known he was getting ready for another bid. We are ready for him. We are working to solidify the DP's base,” he said.

His remarks comes after Siaya Senator James Orengo insisted that Raila will be on ballot despite the latter dismissing the claims often.

He added: "It is now upon us to ensure his (Ruto) political base remains intact. As Rift Valley leaders under him we will not sleep but will work hard to solidify his base."

Soy MP Caleb Kositany insisted that Raila owes Ruto more than anybody, something which Raila's allies have dismissed.

In his statement on Wednesday, the MP said Ruto's team will move across the country and ensure Raila's antics are exposed.

“Mr Odinga owes more than just a political debt to the DP and he should support him in his 2022 presidential bid” Mr Kositany told Nation on phone.
