Speaking on Tuesday, Barasa accused Uhuru of misdirecting his anger, saying that he should instead be using it to push for the realisation of his re-election manifesto.

He noted that Uhuru is growing agitated and angry as a result of his inability to realise his goals, adding that he should channel his anger to his Cabinet Secretaries.

He argued that lawmakers don't play a role in the implementation of State projects and have no reason to carry the blame on behalf of CSs.

"I don't know why the president is angry with his party MPs. He took his anger out on MPs yet I think he should have taken it to his lazy ministers (Sijui mbona rais amekasirika na wajumbe wa chama chake. Alitoa ghadhabu kwa wajumbe na watu nadhani angewapelekea ni mawaziri ambao wanazembea)," he said.

Barasa was speaking in an interview on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show on Tuesday morning, where he advised Uhuru to use his powers to streamline his cabinet.

The first term lawmaker observed that as a result of laxity in the cabinet, Uhuru's Big 4 agenda stands very low chances of being realised, three years to the completion of his second and last term.

"He has the power, let him direct his anger to his ministers (ako na mamlaka, adirect hasira zake kwa mawaziri wake)," he added.

However, Uhuru on Sunday made it clear that his attacks were aimed at his Mt Kenya bedrock politicians whom he accused of constant involvement in the 2022 succession debate.

The Head of State has repeatedly termed politicians engaging in 2022 campaigns as the main reason behind the nation's inability to progress, urging them to focus on service delivery for now.
