The trial of two suspects, Hussein Aden, and Juliet Njoki, who are charged with attempted murder of former Garissa Finance Minister Idriss Mukhtar has now been pushed to 2019.
The trial that was set for Friday last week was postponed to February 2019 after the suspects' lawyers complained that they had not received all witness statements from the prosecution.
Trial Magistrate Francis Andayi ordered the prosecution to supply witness statements to the accused persons' lawyers.
"I hereby adjourn the trial to February 4 and 5, 2019 and the prosecution is hereby ordered to supply all necessary statements to the defense lawyers," Andayi ruled on Friday.
The Magistrate ruled that the case will be mentioned on December 6 to confirm whether the prosecution will have complied in terms of supplying witness statements to defense lawyers.
Aden and Njoki are charged with attempted murder of Mukhtar and also conspiring to kill City lawyer Charles Kanjama.
The two accused persons are out on Sh500,000 cash bail.
This comes as an investigation into Mukhtar attempted murder is said to be ongoing.
Detectives are yet to forward probe file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Mukhtar's family has been raising concerns over the alleged slow pace of investigations into the case.
Garissa Governor Ali Korane is among suspects who have been quizzed in the attempted murder case.
Korane has denied any involvement in the attempted murder.
Mukhtar who has a bullet lodged in his head is battling for his life in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
He was air-lifted to India a month ago for specialized treatment.
