Nyamira county Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi has likened Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangí to ODM Party leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Thursday in North Mugirango constituency, Nyamira County, Ms Momanyi said that Matiang'i exhibited hard work and passion for his work, just like Raila, terming him a saviour who is better placed to lead this country.
"Matiang'i since his appointment into the government has been doing a commendable job the same way the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been championing for democracy. I can confirm that Matiangí is the next leader the Gusii community and Nyanza region as a whole can brag about," she noted.
The legislator insisted that a powerful Prime Minister post should be created through the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, which she insinuated was fit for Matiang'i.
According to the vocal lawmaker, Matiangí's track record will enable him to become the Prime Minister, should the position arise.
"As a community, we should join other leaders to push for a powerful prime minister position and who knows Matiangí may be the next PM," she added.
She reiterated her commitment to continuing working closely with Matiangí throughout her tenure to empower women, youth and people living with disabilities.
She further encouraged local leaders to shun divisive politics meant to divide the Gusii community ahead of the 2022 polls.
