Have you ever found yourself talking alone? Don't think you are crazy because you are not. Science explains that such people are actually geniuses.
People do this when they are alone in their offices, while walking down the streets, in bed or at home with no one around.
It doesn't mean you are out of your mind or your mind is leaving you but some form of intelligence.
Instead of describing this as talking alone, the phrase that best describes it is "thinking out loud" which helps you make sense of things.
Here is why people who talk alone are geniuses;
1. Helps stimulate memory
Psychologists Daniel Swigley and Gary Lupya hypothesized that talking alone is actually beneficial for the brain as far as memory is concerned. Speaking out loud to yourself sparks out memory making the brain to work more efficiently.
2. Helps clarify thoughts
Sometimes what you think don't satisfy you good enough. But when you make your thoughts loud, that is, by speaking out whether you are in the company of somebody or people, you tend to get more sense out of it.
Live Science says solo speaking helps you affirm your thoughts that you were contemplating.
3. Helps with focus
Talking to yourself about something helps keep it in your mind. This means you will stay more focused on it because when you say it loud, your brain plants that activity in your mind. For example, if you are searching for something, the best way you can keep it in mind is by saying its name loudly and repeatedly.
