Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has yet again taken a swipe at ODM party leader Raila Odinga, accusing him of of allegedly being desperate.
ODM on Tuesday claimed that Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa had decamped from DP William Ruto's camp, before the tweet was deleted.
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed maintained that Ms Jumwa wanted to return to ODM, adding that he has organised a meeting for Jumwa with Raila in the near future.
“Mr Odinga had left the plenary meeting briefly before bumping into Ms Jumwa, who was on her way to the office,” Mr Mohamed said.
“The two exchanged pleasantries and she told PM [Raila] that she wants to come back to the party. She said circumstances conspired to push her out of the party but she wanted to return to the fold. I have organised a meeting between her and the party leader as she is welcome to ODM.”
But in a tweet, Khalwale insisted that Jumwa will not return to Orange Democratic Movement party, adding that Mr Odinga is becoming desperate.
"Desperation at its peak! Gentlemen, take it easy! The girl is taken and gone," he said.
Jumwa, who met Mr Odinga on Tuesday, said that the message from ODM was untrue, adding that she never supported Imran Okoth for Kibra by-election or attended ODM Parliamentary Group meeting.
“I neither attended their meeting nor endorsed Mr Okoth,” Ms Jumwa protested to the media last evening in Parliament, claiming the information was part of a scheme to intimidate her out of supporting Mr Ruto.
“I’m reading all over social media that I have endorsed Mr Okoth. I haven’t done such a thing. Those are lies being peddled by people close to the ODM leader.”
