Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has made a passionate appeal to other parties with an interest in contesting the upcoming Kibra constituency by-election, to drop their ambitions.
Speaking on Tuesday exclusively to K24 TV, the outspoken legislator urged Jubilee, Wiper, Ford-Kenya and other parties to leave the Kibra seat for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
"Jubilee as a party, Wiper, ANC, Ford-Kenya, any other party that might be interested in the position should leave for ODM as a party, " he said.
Babu's appeal comes in the context of growing speculation on who will fly the ODM party's flag in the upcoming by-election.
No party other than ODM has expressed interest in the Kibra parliamentary seat vacancy.
Speaking during a memorial in the constituency for former MP the late Ken Okoth, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja said he will talk to President Uhuru Kenyatta so that the rulingJubilee Party doesn't field a candidate in the by-election.
Kibra has firmly been in the grip of ODM since the founding of the party and the party's aspirant is sure to carry the day.
Media reports indicate that the party is internally engaged in deliberations on who to give the ticket.
