Under fire treasury boss Henry Rotich made his way to DCI headquarters for the third day in a row as detectives intensified their probe on the alleged loss of Sh21 billion, reports the Standard.
For the second week now, Rotich has been at pain to explain circumstances under which he paid an Italian dam Sh21 billion without the company doing due diligence in construction of Kimwarer and Aror dams.
Lead detective George Kinoti is said to have prepared at least 300 questions which Rotich has been answering for the last three days.
On Tuesday, Rotich, who could face wrath from President Uhuru Kenyatta, was forced to take lunch at DCI headquarters where he was grilled for 12 hours over the controversial payments.
Already, the scandal has caused storm among the political elites with Deputy President William Ruto accusing ODM leader Raila Odinga of allegedly engineering the probe over 2022 politics.
But Raila maintained on Wednesday that Ruto should take responsibility, accusing him of using a community to cover up corruption related cases where he's linked directly or indirectly.
A section of MPs led by Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi, have also dragged President Uhuru Kenyatta to the matter, accusing him of allegedly using DCI George Kinoti and the team to harass his deputy.
