Cheptiret village is still in shock after a 37-year-old man was caught allegedly having sex with a sheep in a maize plantation.
The man, Ronald Wanjala is said to have been busted with his trouser completely removed.
Kevin Kipchumba, a resident of the village said he heard a sheep bleating in the maize plantation and went to check on it only to find Wanjala engaging it in the unnatural act.
Kipchumba then alerted the villagers upon busting him. The villagers reacted and quickly gathered at the scene. They tied up the suspect together with the sheep and escorted him up to his house where he stays with his younger sister.
"The sheep was bleating insistently that I suspected there could be something wrong. At first, I thought a snake or probably a wild animal had attacked it," Kipchumba stated.
"This is so immoral. How can a full grown up man resolve on an animal? Did he not see women around?" a resident shouted.
Wanjala, however, denied the allegations levelled against him saying he had gone to urinate in the maize plantation when he saw the sheep. According to him, Kipchumba caught him while urinating near the sheep.
"I had gone for a short call and saw the sheep on the plantation. I wanted to chase it out of the plantation so that it could not damage the maize but I was found while still urinating," he defended himself.
Kipchumba, however, insisted that he found him on top of the sheep.
The angry residents flogged Wanjala and beat him up saying it would be a punishment for him and also a warning to those with the same behaviour.
