The family of a GSU officer who died during the Dusit D2 terrorist attack has asked well wishers to help in raising funds that will see him given a befitting burial.

Born in 1991, the late Japhet Nduguja Nuru who hailed from Taveta Sub-county in Taita Taveta County, was attached at the GSU headquarters in Ruaraka.

In an obituary published in a local daily, the family of the fallen officer said the first fundraiser meeting would take place at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on January 22, 2019 ahead of the main fundraiser on January 23.

The burial will be held on Saturday, January 26, at Kimala village, Taveta Sub-county.

During the attack 21 lives were lost, several injured and 700 safely evacuated.
