Speaking in Hola Town on Friday while handing over cheques for student bursaries, Governor Dhadho said the continuous overstay of Somali refugees in the country had become a major security threat.

He further added that Somalia had a governance system just like Kenya and that its citizens were free to vie in elective positions there.

“Somalia refugees do not and will not benefit from any elective positions in Kenya even if they remain in this country for a century. They should just go there and develop their country instead of being a security threat here,’’ Godhana stated.

The sentiments come barely a week after Dusit2D terrorist attack in Nairobi that claimed at least 21 souls.

In the incident, over 700 people were rescued with all the terrorists reported to have been killed by the security officers involved in the operation.
