Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has a tough time ahead of him.
Kalonzo cannot manage to get anything wrong when that time comes.
The Ukambani politician needs to re-evaluate his options as far as his running mate is concerned prior to 2022 polls.
Here are leaders who cannot make Kalonzo President if he names them as running mates:
1. Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula
Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is not only influential, but also powerful. However, the fact that he hails from the Luhya community, which is known for being divided in the past elections cannot make Kalonzo a president in 2022.
2. CCM leader Isaac Rutto
Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi are the men who control Kalenjin votes. Kalonzo will be misled to go for Isaac who lost his gubernatorial sit in 2017. Kalonzo and Isaac Rutto will lose before midday when they get to the ballot as presidential candidate and running mate respectively.
3. Maendeleo Chap Chap’s Alfred Mutua
Kalonzo and Mutua hail from the same community. It will be the worst combination ever considering tribalism plight in the nation. Although Mutua is a performer, he cannot deputize Kalonzo.
4. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko
Kalonzo and Sonko will hand over power to Deputy President William Ruto. The two also hail from the same community. This means that other communities will not be attracted to vote for the combination.
5. National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale
Duale remains powerful but his community lacks numbers. Kalonzo will not be a force to reckon with if he receives endorsement from Duale as his running mate. He has to think of a running mate from a populous community.
