Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has weighed in on the alleged plot by a number of top state officials from Mt Kenya region to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
Four CSs, a host of Principal Secretaries and parastatal heads have been implicated in the same, with Khalwale now calling for calm to give room for investigations.
Speaking on Tuesday, he said that the nation should actually be congratulating the DP for attracting Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti's attention to the matter.
"Let us wait for the investigations to be concluded then we will take a position, for now, we should be congratulating the President for having directed the DCI to expedite this matter," he said on NTV's AM Live, Tuesday morning.
Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, a close ally of the DP rubbished the group's claims that their meetings have been aimed at bettering service delivery for their people.
This was after Trade CS, one of those implicated said that they have indeed been holding meetings as is claimed, but to look into the things to do with their region.
"We have never heard of a meeting where its just CSs from our region, the problems that face the people of Kericho can be resolved by the whole government not the only the CSs in the cabinet from that region," he said.
The other CSs named in the alleged plot are Joe Mucheru (ICT), Sicily Kariuki (Health) and James Macharia (Transport).
