Zaheer Jhanda said he still has the interest of seeking the MP seat in his Nyaribari Chache constituency.

He said the fake gold scam won't derail his political ambition.

"I wish to confirm to the people of Nyaribari Chache that I will be going for the MP seat in 2022. Constituents should ignore the claims that I am a fake gold dealer. I just a genuine businessman ready to represent the electorates at the national assembly," he stated.

The vocal politician warned his rivals against using the fake gold scam to spread propaganda arguing that the people of Nyaribari Chache won't believe the propaganda.

"My rivals should not take advantage of the fake gold scandal to tell lies about me. The fake gold scam has nothing to do with my ambitions to become the next MP," Jhanda noted.

Jhanda was speaking at Keumbu Holiness Children's home in Kisii County over the weekend where he donated Sh100,000.

He unsuccessfully contested for the Nyaribari Chache MP seat during the 2017 polls on a Wiper Party ticket.
