Political analyst Herman Manyora observes that Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho might feature heavily in the much anticipated 2022 presidential elections.
Speaking on Milele FM's Kivumbi Show on Wednesday morning, Manyora said that the latter could be part of a new political formation allegedly being founded between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila.
Consequently, he said Joho might be included to enable the team scoop the majority of votes in the coastal region, especially now that he appears as the region's kingpin.
He added that the inclusion of the county boss will also be used to give the coastal region a sense of belonging once the team makes it to power, eradicating feelings of exclusion.
"Iwapo kunao mpangilio kama huo basi huenda Joho akapata nafasi maana amebeba eneo la Pwani mgongoni mwake (he represents the Coast and must be included)," said Manyora.
However, the governor who doubles up as Raila's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy party leader has also hinted at joining the presidential race in 2022.
Uhuru and Raila have also come out to clear the air on their joint moves, terming it a plan to enhance development which has nothing to do with the 2022 debate.
