Attorney General Paul Kihara has vowed to fight the nightmare of corruption in Kenya to a logical conclusion.
The AG said he is aware of the difficult task ahead of him.
"When I came to this office, I knew the responsibility that lay upon me,” Kihara said.
The AG was speaking during a convention of the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa on Friday.
He said he wants to be remembered over his fight against the vice.
“I want people who come to my funeral to say ‘this is the person who truly stood against corruption’. Under my watch, for sure, we shall overcome corruption,” the AG added.
Kihara replaced Githu Muigai who resigned as government’s chief legal adviser on February this year.
It will remain to be seen if Kihara will be able to deal with corruption which is driven by Kenya’s powerful cartels.
