Walter Nyambati, a former chief campaigner for Jubilee and President Uhuru Kenyatta's confidant, has after all challenged Nyamira gubernatorial elections in Supreme Court.
Earlier, Nyambati had his petition against Governor John Nyagarama dismissed by both High Court and Appeals Court, blaming Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i of interference.
And on Monday, both parties met at the Supreme Court where the case was mentioned under the guidance of Esther Nyaiyaki, the court Registrar.
While Governor Nyagarama is attending the session, Nyambati was however nowhere near the court premises.
Instead, his lawyer, Fred Ngatia, coordinated a battery of lawyers as the two teams lined up for a formidable battle.
Last year, IEBC declared Nyagarama of ODM winner with close to 65,600 votes while Nyambati came second at 59,100 votes.
The former Kitutu Masaba MP claims that vote stuffing orchastrated by IEBC erroneously gave Nyagarama an advantage.
He becomes the first politician to launch three petitions with the first two collapsing.
