Anxiety has gripped candidates who sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) across the country as the results are expected to be released anytime.

Last week, Education Cabinet Secretary  (CS) Ambassador Amina Mohamed said the results will be released before Christmas.

According to the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), 1.6 million candidates sat the exams in November.

Candidates in Ukambani region who sat the exams are among those eagerly and anxiously waiting for the results.

Over the years, Ukambani counties (Makueni, Machakos, and Kitui) have been posting exemplary results.

Top schools in Ukambani have been making it to the top 100 schools in the country.

Here are six giant schools in Ukambani that are likely to post good results in the 2018 KCSE.

1. Machakos Boys High School 

It is located in Machakos County.

In 2017, Machakos Boys scooped 68 positions in the top 100 schools nationally.

This year, the school expects to register improved performance.

2. St Charles Lwanga

 It is located in Kitui County.

The school has been making it to the top 100 schools nationally.

In 2017 results, St Charles Lwanga emerged position 55 nationally.

The school emerged top in the entire Ukambani region in 2017.

3. Alim High School

 It is located in Machakos County.

In 2017 KCSE results, the school emerged position 59 nationally.

4. Precious Blood School-Kilungu 

It is located in Makueni County.

It is among best performing schools in Ukambani in the past five years.

In the 2017 KCSE results, the school scooped position 69 in the top 100 schools nationally.

5. Muthale Girls High School

 It is located in Makueni County.

In 2017, the school scooped position 84 in the top 100 schools nationally.

6. Makueni Boys High School

It is located in Makueni County, it is among the best performing schools.

In 2017, it emerged position 92 among the top 100 schools nationally.
