On Wednesday, the Wajir county boss donated branded uniforms to the club that is currently in a scouting mission to recruit top talents from the vast North Eastern region.

In a social media post, Garissa Township MP Adan Duale who also doubles up as Club's patron acknowledged governor Abdi's output in his bid to supporting talents.

"Thanks to Wajir governor, Mohamed Abdi Mohamud for supporting talent of the youth through Northern Wanderers FC," Duale posted on his official Facebook page.

For close to two weeks now, the club's technical team has been pitching tent in Wajir county to look for talented footballers to join the newly formed club.

Upon the expiry of the ongoing talent-search mission, identified footballers will head to Garissa in June this year for a rigorous training before they can embark on countrywide tournaments with other leading clubs.

As it is now, not a single football club from the North Eastern region participates in the Kenya Premier League.

Expectations are now high that the Northern Wanderers FC will rise to represent the region in country's top leagues, thus exposing the border counties in a good light.
