Police in Eldoret town have started a crack down on burglars terrorizing residents.
According to Eldoret east police boss Richard Omanga, several houses in Elgon View estate were on Sunday broken into.
Omanga said the thieves made away with property of unknown value.
"We have began a crackdown on notorious burglars who are bent on terrorizing residents in Eldoret town, we won't relent until they are behind bars," said Omanga.
He said that similar incidents have been reported in Kidiwa, Langas, Huruma and Action estates where residents have also lost properties worth thousands of shillings.
He observed that the police have intensified day and night patrols in the affected areas in a bid stamp out the burglaries.
He advised residents to report suspicious individuals.
"Report suspicious activities or any individual you suspect, the police will conduct investigations and know what to do next," he said
