Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim has weighed on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s ‘Wahsenzi’ remark that was directed to politicians engaging in 2022 succession politics.

The former National Assembly Deputy Speaker says that the politicians deserve to be called ‘Washenzi’.

According to Maalim, mshenzi is somebody who cannot perform simple additions.

In reference to some Central Kenya politicians, Maalim claimed that the region does not send to Parliament its best minds.

“Remember I had said Central Kenya does not send to Parliament its best minds. Uhuru Kenyatta, you described them appropriately,” he posted on his twitter account.

On Monday, President Kenyatta hit out at politicians who are accusing him of sidelining some regions on development by calling them ‘Washenzi’.

The President who made the 'washenzi' remark in Mombasa said that no region has been sidelined on matters development.

The President's ‘washenzi’ remark was directed at Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who had accused the Jubilee government of sidelining Mt Kenya region on development.

Kuria’s statement has sparked a political storm in Mt Kenya with majority politicians bashing the controversial politician.

Mt Kenya politicians have since defended the president insisting that his government has not sidelined the region on development matters.
