Renowned political analyst and the University of Nairobi lecturer Prof Herman Manyora reckons that with all the recent talks of corruption being around DP Ruto, it paints an image or rather gives a perception that DP Ruto is corrupt.

"Corruption has been presented squarely and directly at the footsteps of William Someo Ruto. So it's true that this Corruption monster, especially as a national narrative, is going to destroy someone is going to have the highest chance of becoming the President, that is William Samoe Ruto," the analyst said.

The Professor makes it clear that DP Ruto may or may not be corrupt however the perception right now is that he is corrupt and he examines how the perception may work against him come 2022.

According to Prof Manyora, Kenyans have been ignorant in the past of corrupt leaders when it came to elections, stating that that is going to change come next elections.

He says the rate at which Kenya is being destroyed by corruption is so deep compared to what has been there previously and is having a direct bearing on Kenyans, reflected on the high cost of living, poor education, poor health and infrastructure among others and this will be in Kenyans mind when elections come.

According to the professor, this corruption trend is bound to continue and by 2022 economy will almost be collapsing. The fact that corruption is being blamed on DP Ruto, the Professor opines he does not see the DP surviving.

"If this corruption is being blamed on William Ruto, I don't see him surviving. By 2022, corruption will have messed this country's economy so much that there will be almost no country," Prof Manyora opined.
