Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti have joined other Kamba leaders in mourning ex-Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka's father.
Kibwana referred to Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu's death as a great loss to the Wiper leader's family.
"This is a great loss but let the family bear it with fortitude because it is God's will and all shall be well," Kibwana posted on his Facebook page on Sunday.
He praised Kalonzo for being his late father's good friend during his old age.
"I know Mheshimiwa Kalonzo was very close to his father and I witnessed this when I visited them while mzee was ailing," Kibwana stated in his Facebook post.
Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti on her part wished the family well during this tempting time.
"My deepest condolences to the family of my Party Leader H.E Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka following the sudden demise of their father Mr. Peter Musyoka Mairu," Ndeti posted on her Facebook page.
"May God give the family the requisite strength and fortitude to cope with the loss," she added.
The late Mzee Peter Musyoka died at a Nairobi hospital on Sunday morning.
Kalonzo confirmed that his father, who had been ailing for a while, died while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.
