As questions remain unanswered on the brutal murder of Moi University 6th year student Ivy Wangechi, a 24-year-old woman has been stabbed to death by an estranged lover, in Nyaribo, Nyeri County.

Confirming the incident on Monday, Nyeri Central Sub-County Police Commander Paul Kuria said that the man, whose identity has not been revealed, went into hiding moments after he committed the heinous at.  

The police boss also said that they have launched a manhunt for the suspected killer after the news emerged. 

"He took off as soon as he committed the act. We are currently looking for him," Kuria said, as quoted by Daily Nation

The man reportedly tracked the woman before he took away her life. 

The deceased was living with a long time friend before her tragic death after they separated two years before the woman decided to move into his friend’s house. 

The body of the deceased had sustained wounds on the neck as it still remains unclear why the man decided to end the life of his ex-lover. 

The rise in the incident comes at a time when leaders from various quarters have continued to raise concern over the brutal murder of women in the name of love.
