The self-proclaimed National Resistance Movement (NRM) leader said that it is unfortunate to note that Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu is walking scot-free despite reported misuse of Sh2.5 billion in his government.

Miguna's statement comes after it emerged that the county government of Kiambu allegedly spent the said amount on peace keep missions in South Sudan and other State House operations.

Miguna has now asked the DPP and DCI to ensure that resources belonging to the public are protected from looters.

“The @DCI_Kenya Kinoti and @ODPP_KE Haji have been praised by despots and renegades for "fighting corruption" yet Ferdinand Waititu is still walking free despite having buried Sh2.6 billion of public money in fictional peacekeeping and State House operations,” said Miguna through a tweet on his official account.

While appearing before the Senate County Public Accounts and Investments Committee (CPAIC), Waititu denied claims that his government had siphoned funds belonging to the general public.

The governor was put to task to explain the Sh2.5 billion abnormal expenditures incurred by his government.
