Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has hit out at Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga following his meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta's cousins.
Raila on Wednesday met former Gatundu Member of Parliament Ngengi Muigai and his sister Nominated Senator Beth Mugo at his Capitol Hill offices in Nairobi.
The two are the children of prominent Gatundu farmer and educationist James Muigai who was a brother to Kenyan founding President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
They are siblings to the Secretary-General of Kikuyu Council of Elders Captain Kung'u Muigai.
Ngengi Muigai took over as Gatundu legislator upon the death of Mzee Kenyatta on August 22, 1978 and ruled for a decade.
This was before the populous constituency was sub-divided into Gatundu South and Gatundu North constituencies.
Before she was nominated to the Senate, Beth Mugo served for a long time as MP for Dagoretti and as Cabinet Minister during the tenure of retired President Mwai Kibaki.
In a post on his social media platforms, Raila described the two as longtime friends saying they had visited for some 'catch up'.
"I was happy to catch up with longtime friends Senator Beth Mugo and Mr Ngengi Muigai. The three of us have a long history dating back to the struggle for multiparty politics and a new Constitution in the 1990s," Raila posted on Twitter.
The meeting came days after he hosted President Uhuru's brother Muhoho Kenyatta, during Jaramogi Oginga Odinga's memorial service at Bondo constituency, Siaya county on Sunday.
However, the meeting did not go well with Miguna who labelled Raila a 'traitor' for having hosted members of the first family.
"As traitor @RailaOdinga is busy "catching up" with the rotten members of the Jomo Kenyatta family, 49.9 million Kenyans continue to be brutalized, exploited and oppressed by @UKenyatta 's illegitimate regime. Raila's Waterloo is nigh," the vocal lawyer said.
Miguna has been attributing his woes to Uhuru and Raila, whom he accused of planning his deportation to Canada.
