Governor Okoth Obado has said he is in a difficult situation.
The Migori county boss spoke while attending a church service at Upper Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church in the county.
"Pray for me because I am in a difficult situation, and remain united and peaceful," Obado told those attending the church service.
Obado was released on bail after spending more than a month at Nairobi's Industrial Area Remand Prison.
Obado is facing charges over the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno who was abducted on September 3.
Her body was found the next day stabbed several times and dumped in a thicket.
Nation journalist Barrack Oduor, who was with Sharon during the abduction incident, said they had been lured into the abduction ring by Obado’s personal assistant Michael Oyamo.
Oyamo is cooling heels behind bars together with Migori county clerk Caspal Obiero after they were denied bail.
Justice Jesse Lessit said they were directly linked into the murder and such would be risky to release them on bail.
