One person has died on Sunday morning and over forty others injured after a bus they were travelling in was involved in an accident along the Kisumu-Siaya road.
Reports indicate that the bus belonging to Crown Bus Company had 44 passengers at the time of the accident.
According to Siaya County Traffic Commissioner Margaret Kariuki, the accident took place at Ayora farm, after the bus veered off the road before overturning.
“The injured passengers have all been rushed to Siaya County Referral Hospital while the body of the deceased has also been taken to the hospital’s mortuary awaiting post mortem,” said Ms. Kariuki as quoted by Citizen Digital.
According to reports from the Cheif Medical Officer at Siaya, two passengers sustained serious injuries and have been taken to theater.
The remaining passengers, are however, in stable condition and are being monitored at the county's hospital.
