Speaking at State House, the agitated Kenyatta said that the nurses must adhere to the court orders, terming their defiance as disheartening.

The Head of State demanded that all nurses to go back to work by Friday morning.

He warned that he would instruct the police to take serious action against the nurses who shall be found to obstruct resumption of normalcy in hospitals across the country.

"Obeying court orders is not optional and it is a requirement of all of us no matter their place in the society," stated Kenyatta.

He asked the nurses union officials led by Seth Panyako to obey the court orders.

"Our constitution and various labour laws while granting the right to picket and participate in strikes, also provided for the process of determining public service remuneration by SRC whose advice has equally been disregarded by our striking nurse," said Kenyatta.

He expressed displeasure to the manner in which the union officials declared not ready to obey any order.

" It is disheartening to hear officials of the nursing union declare that they will not obey court orders One of the most important principles our republic has established is the rule of law and no one is above the law," added Kenyatta.
