Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi have been engaging in nasty political debates and exchange of bitter words.

The two have been termed as political rivals as they have never eaten on the same plate of politics for a very long time. Ruto has made it clear that he will be going for the top seat in 2022 but Senator Moi is yet to make a public declaration on the same, though it is said that he is also in the same race.

Both DP Ruto and Moi hail from the same region, Rift Valley and each one of them has supporters. The man from Sugoi and his camp have branded the sibling rivalry in the region as a war between dynasties and hustlers. Senator Moi is a son to former President Daniel Moi while Ruto, is a son of nobody, he was once a chicken seller at Kamagut village in Turbo, his rural village in Uasin Gishu.

Truth be told, DP Ruto has higher chances of winning the presidential seat as compared to Gideon Moi. Ruto has served as a Member of Parliament, Minister and the Deputy President, all put together is over 20 years of political experience while Senator Moi has not achieved much in his political career.

For this reason, Senator Moi should consider joining Ruto’s camp ahead of the coming presidential race and this will guarantee the self-proclaimed Kalenjin Kingpin a 100 per cent support from the larger Rift Valley region.

The unity of the Rift Valley will definitely boost the chances of Ruto being the next president.
