The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party through its Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, has said it will abide by the tribunal's decision to reinstate Aisha Jumwa in the party.
Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV's Daily break show, Sifuna said ODM will abide by the decision of the court, and look at the disciplinary process afresh.
"Aisha Jumwa was subjected to the law under the political parties act. Even when she took us to court as law-abiding citizens and the people who believe in the rule of law, we will abide by the court order. The court directed that we begin the process afresh and that is exactly what we are going to do," Sifuna said.
Sifuna maintained that the party did not disrespect the Malindi legislator, but followed the law in expelling her from the party.
Jumwa successfully petitioned the decision of ODM to kick her out of the party, due to her support for Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
Sifuna responded after he was accused by a fellow panelist in the show of double standards, for bashing Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko as a disrespectful leader for women.
