When you are pregnant, it is always advisable to sit in a good posture. Sitting the right way is important and comes with so many benefits. Depending on the way you usually sit, the foetus can be in good shape or in bad shape.
Poor sitting positions for a pregnant woman is believed to cause headaches, abdominal and pelvic pain at times.
These are the sitting positions you should avoid when pregnant:
1. While sitting, avoid crossing your legs
This position is dangerous than you can imagine. Some of the risks associated with it include barring and hindering the smooth flow of blood across the body. This can eventually cause swelling of the ankles and varicose vein
2. Sitting for long in the same position
This habit is common among most pregnant women. Sit for at least five minutes and change the position.
You can stretch your legs and hands and retain the same sitting positions. However, don't stay over 15 minutes in the same position.
Try as much as possible changing the position to enhance the flow of blood to the foetus effectively.
3. Slouching
Some expectant mothers love this position because it makes them feel comfortable. However, this is the biggest mistake you should never make because it causes back pain.
