Political analyst Herman Manyora now says that Kenyans should prepare for more surprises from President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of the 2022 general elections.
According to the commentator, the president is very likely to lay bare the content of their March 9 truce with opposition leader Raila Odinga, which he says might shock the nation.
In his YouTube analysis channel Take It or Leave It on Saturday, Manyora says that Uhuru might soon finally clear the air on his choice for the 2022 presidential race.
And based on their current romance, he explained, Kenyans should expect him to shake the nation with a declaration that he will back Raila for the slot.
"Expect another earthshaking announcement which will leave no doubt that Uhuru and Raila decided on March 9 that Raila will be the president in 2022," he said.
The declaration, he added, will bring an end to the debate on Deputy President William Ruto whom Uhuru had initially promised to endorse as his successor.
He noted that the declaration will however not be a surprise to keen Kenyans who have been paying attention to the joint moves the two have been making lately.
"When you look at what is going on in the country, what they have been saying and when the undercurrents and dynamics are understood, then you will realize the same," he added.
Since their truce, Uhuru and Raila have grown closer while Ruto has been slightly left outside as the two continue to show solidarity.
However, all the three leaders have called for political calm, urging the nation to not dwell on the 2022 issue but rather on bettering the country.
