This comes amid an ongoing discussion on whether or not the nation lost billions of shillings in the Arror and Kimwarer dam projects, which are slowly turning into another graft scandal.

In an interview on Citizen TV Thursday evening, the lawmaker termed the debate a scheme by some political elements to victimize Deputy President William Ruto.

He insisted that the dam debate should not be politicized, adding that Elgeyo Marakwet residents are equally Kenyans and are entitled to the water projects.

"This is a scheme by some people to prevent the construction of the dams. We have been sidelined for long yet we also pay taxes like other Kenyans," he said.

He added that the same is as well a planned plot to crush Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions.

However, he advised that its better abandoned as the political fight will have grave consequences on Kenyans who are eagerly waiting to be served by the dams.

"This is a strategic and planned move intended at stopping the Deputy President buy we must agree that the main victims will be the citizen," he added.

Reports have indicated that the stalled projects have gobbled Ksh21 billion in public coffers.
