Mbiti Kitheka Mutunga (60) left home in 1970s to Laikipia where he went to work as a casual laborer.

The man never returned home until recently when he showed up unannounced.

In his absence, the family was informed he had been killed by thugs in Embu County where he worked as a guard.

A delegation from his family went to Embu identified the body of the killed man who bore the same name, Mbiti Kitheka, though his face was badly disfigured.

He was then buried after a mini-fundraising.

However, the real Mbiti Kitheka was back and wanted his share of land even though his father had already sub divided it to his three wives who later divided it to their children.

Mbiti was forced to rent a house which he paid Sh300 monthly with support from the Assemblies of God Church.

The family called for the exhumation of the buried body to avoid curses.

After the body's exhumation and grave's removal, the family and clan were now able to discuss on how to give Mbiti a parcel of land as his share of inheritance.
