Communications company Safaricom has partnered with Jubilee Insurance Company to enable its customers to enjoy better home insurance.
Safaricom Home Fibre is now inclusive of mobile data, calls and home insurance.
Speaking in Nakuru during the official launch of the new Safaricom Home Fibre packages that will include mobile voice, mobile data, SMS and Home Fibre, Director Charles Kare Wanjohi said the Home Fibre Plus is paramount in this era where consumer preferences are shifting to a single solution that meets all their communication needs both at home and on the go.
Under the new package, for a single fee, Safaricom Home customers can enjoy data connectivity, calls and SMS wherever they are.
He added that through the partnership with Jubilee Insurance, the communications company will be able to provide Home Fibre to customers with a preferential home insurance cover.
Unlike typical home insurance policies, customers will not be required to compile an inventory of their household goods to benefit from the policy.
With the internet in place at home, Mr Wanjohi says they are also working to provide a mechanism where the children are also protected from harmful content.
He assured parents that with the new mechanisms in place, data will be filtered to fit the age of their children in order to avoid internet harm on the same.
“We want to assure parents that we are working on a simple mechanism that will help filter data to avoid harm to our children at home through internet content,” said Mr Wanjohi.
Safaricom Fibre is currently now available to more than 213,000 homes countrywide and the company has ambitions to expand the coverage.
Jubilee Insurance General Manager Retail Mr Nick Murutu who witnessed the launch in Nakuru also stated the importance of home cover.
“Safaricom is providing data in your home and as Jubilee Insurance ours is to ensure the products in your house are safe and in case of risks the process of reclaiming is quick and hustle free,” said Murutu.
The function was also attended by Nakuru County CeC for Trade Dr Peter Kityenya who commended Safaricom for launching the new packages in Nakuru, adding that the move will open up business in Nakuru.
Dr Kityenya added that as a county government, they will continue to engage in such partnerships in a bid to create more opportunities for investment and development in Nakuru.
He also used the opportunity to welcome locals and other companies to the International Investment Conference that will take place in Nakuru on November 29, 2018.
“I must commend Safaricom for thinking about Nakuru any time they want to launch a product. As a county, we will continue with such partnerships to ensure improved livelihood. Allow me also to welcome all to the first ever International Investment Conference that will be taking place in Nakuru on November 29,” said Dr Kityenya.
