Nairobi-based blogger and activist Robert Alai has advised Deputy President William Ruto to go slow on his attacks towards former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
This is after the DP on Sunday went hammer and tongs on the ODM leader when he claimed the church had rejected a brand new car he (Ruto) donated to Kisumu Catholic Archbishop Philip Anyolo.
Raila had alleged the Mitsubishi Pajero was turned down since it had been bought using 'dirty money'.
The sentiments angered the DP and he came out all guns blazing and branded the opposition leader as the 'master of deceit who worships evil spirits'.
"The master of deceit as always is spewing desperate lies. The car gift was bought by Christian leaders including UK (Uhuru Kenyatta) and myself at the request of the chair of Catholic MPs. Understandably empowering the church offends magicians and the evil spirits they worship. Shetani ashindwe!" Ruto tweeted on Sunday.
According to Alai, the Jubilee deputy party leader should not have responded to the remarks since it Raila's intention to provoke him.
The blogger cautioned the DP to be careful in his war of words with the ODM leader, noting his remarks could be used against him by the opponents of his presidential bid.
"Raila successfully provoked DP Ruto on the Catholic Bishop issue. Seems like Raila has been tasked to provoke Ruto and see what extremes he will go as state watches his moves in preparation for 2022. Ruto should now go higher. Stop reacting to Raila’s every fart," Alai posted on Monday.
