A landlord found himself in trouble with a tenant after he attempted to seduce his wife.
It is alleged the landlord, Michael Basweti, went to pick rent at his rental houses at Daraja Mbili from one of the tenants who promised to pay on 4th July.
"Basweti came to my house to pick money for this month's rent. I was sleeping in the house when he called my wife and demanded for the money. I gave my wife Sh2,500 to give him unaware that I was in the house, the greedy Basweti started seducing my wife telling her that he is rich and should accept him as mpango was kando," said Justine Momanyi, the tenant.
Momanyi said he was angered by the landlord's sentiments, rushed out of the bedroom and found the landlord standing in a compromising position with his wife.
"I could not control my temper when I saw Basweti standing close to my wife with an intention to kiss her. I picked a walking stick which I used to beat him up and kicked him out of the house," he noted.
Neighbors said Basweti is fond of seducing people's wives.
"Basweti is jealous of people beautiful wives. If he will not change his band behaviors he may soon be killed," said Vicky Nyamora.
Area assistant chief Francis Ong'uti said the landlord was injured on his forehead during the Wednesday morning attack and he is currently being treated at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital.
