He was a Kenyan-Somali and was a headmaster of an Islamic Madrassa in Garissa County.

Kuno operated mainly in Garissa where he taught Islam.

The former head teacher was a member of an extremist group Hizbul Islam.

Mohamed Dulyadin was one of his aliases.

When he crossed into Somalia, he joined the Union of Islamic Courts (UIC).

When he was alive, Kuno helped Al-Shabaab recruit fighters.
