A police boss adversely mentioned in a rape case has finally spoken over his alleged role in frustrating the case of Najma, a rape victim in Wajir.
Wajir OCS, who has since attracted DPP's attention now says that he did not frustrate the efforts by Najma's father as alleged by social media users.
Reached for comment on phone by this writer, the OCS said the news in the various social media platforms were pure lies and called on people to desist from propagating lies that may delay justice for the rape victim.
"The news about my interfering with the course of justice for the rape victim are mere fabrications. I have never threatened anyone, not even Najma's father as alleged in the social media," said the OCS.
Asked if he had been contacted by officers from the DPP's office, the police chief declined to comment saying the most important thing at the moment was justice for Najma.
On Friday last week, the DPP issued an update in his social media platform indicating that he had received reports that the Wajir OCS had threatened Najma's father.
The DPP's office also revealed that he was already in contact with Najma's parents over the same issue.
