ODM politician based in Kisii County has dismissed Deputy President William Ruto's planned trip to Kisii county, three weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta toured the region.

Samuel Omwando claimed that even if Ruto relocates to Kisii county he won't win the hearts of Kisii people to get votes in 2022.

"Ruto's trip on Friday, March 15, 2019, to South Mugirango is a waste of time. He will not get any support from the people who have already lost trust in him," he said.

According to Omwando, Ruto was demoted by President Uhuru Kenyatta following Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i's promotion.

"Mr Ruto is trying to seek relevance after he was demoted. His presidential bid is being crippled each and every day," he stated.

He appealed to Kisii residents not to waste time listening to DP Ruto because his previous visits have not given fruits.

"This is not the first time Ruto is visiting Kisii region. He ghost projects he has pretended to launch are stalled. Let him first revive them before visiting the region again. He should know Kisiis are not people to be misused," he added.
