The High Education Loans Board (HELB) last week announced that all undergraduate students, first applicants who are in need of the money to fund their studies to start applying for the loan.

 "We're happy to announce that our undergraduate first time loan application is open. Go after your dreams. We have your back.," reads a post on the HELB Facebook page.

It is six days down the line since the information was released. You still have ample time to apply for the loan as it is was also noted that the deadline for application is scheduled for June 31, this year. 

The loan is only meant to help students who can't afford to foot their entire school fees and therefore not everyone is eligible to secure it. The board usually considers some requirements and you have to meet the conditions. 

Do you know the requirements for the undergraduate first-time loan application?

 Here they are;

1. You must be a student placed by Kenya Universities and Colleges Placement Services in the local public and private universities

2. You must be a holder of a valid Kenyan National Identity card

3. You must be unemployed, self-sponsored parallel and module II student studying for a Bachelor's degree only.
