Renowned blogger Robert Alai sensationally claims that Home Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti went blind and that be cannot be able to execute his duties effectively.
In a tweet, Alai seemed to accuse ODM leader Raila Odinga of allegedly imposing Luo imposing 'sick' people on Luo Nyanza people, remarks that were in reference to Governor Awiti and his Kisumu counterpart Anyang Nyong'o who was rushed to hospital on Saturday.
While Nyong'o has been active in public since his victory in 2017, Awiti has kept a low profile, only making public appearance in July 2018 when Raila Odinga visited him.

While Awiti's blindness cannot be ascertained, a source claims that he's suffering from retinopathy, a condition that results to blurred vision due to diabetes of high blood pressure.
In his last post, Awiti, who is facing a Supreme Court case, told the public that he was recuperating. Visibly, his eyes could show signs of some abnormalities.

This year, he will know the Supreme Court verdict over his victory following successful challenge by Oyugi Magwanga both at High Court and the Supreme Court.
