Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has called for the slashing of funds being channelled to the 47 devolved units across the country.
The two-time legislator instead wants part of the slashed funds used to increase budgetary allocation for the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town, Sudi said NG-CDF kitty has had a positive impact on many locals compared to what counties are doing.
“When you look at what we have been able to do with the little CDF we get, it way more than what county governments have done,” he noted.
The Jubilee MP further said rampant corruption in devolved units was hampering effective use of the money they are allocated annually from the national government.
“If you asked Kenyans what they would rather have between CDF and counties, many will definitely root for CDF and this is why I urge that we are allocated more funds,” he said.
The MP recently opened a Sh15 million 18-class storey building at Langas primary school fully funded by the NG-CDF kitty.

The building has been a talk on social media, with the majority of netizens praising his initiative to change the face of the primary school that is located within one of the largest informal settlement estates in Eldoret town, Langas.
