Also questioned was his daughter who accompanied him to the EACC headquarters in Nairobi.

Speaking to the media, the Kiambu County boss explained why his daughter was questioned.

He said she was questioned because she was a signatory to one of his companies.

"My daughter is a signatory to one of the investment companies that I do business with. I have her name in one of my companies. She is my daughter, my first born, " the governor said.

Governor Waititu also weighed in on the nature of questions that the EACC asked him.

He said that the investigative officers wanted to know the properties that he has, how he acquired them and how tenders are given at the county.

On tenders, he contended that they were given by a committee of the county after due diligence was done.

Last week, his homes were raided and documents taken away as investigations into claims of corruption continued.

The county boss has maintained that he is innocent and the corruption allegations made against him are politically-motivated.
