Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has insisted that his academic papers are genuine.
The MP who is facing forgery charges over his academic certificates further stated that many have doubted his academic credentials due to the ‘on-and-off’ learning experience he had.
Addressing a media briefing in Eldoret town on Monday Sudi who largely spoke in Swahili told off those questioning his academic papers.
“Mimi rekodi yangu ni clean. Watu hawaelewi nilisoma vipi kwa sababu mimi kama mtoto ya hustler nilisoma kwa mda mrefu kwa sababu ilikua ni-broke kidogo na kutafta pesa ya kusoma. (My academic papers are clean. Many don’t understand how my academic journey was because as a child of a hustler, I had to alternate between being a broker and a student as I had to look for money to study,” said Sudi.
“Hao watu wanasema sikuenda shule, mimi nawauliza sikuenda shule asubuhi ama sikuenda shule saa nane? (Those claiming I did not go to school, I want to ask them at what time did I not go to school, in the morning or in the afternoon?),” he added.
There is an ongoing court case in which Sudi is accused of presenting fake Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and diploma certificates to secure clearance for the National assembly seat during the 2013 general elections.
