Addressing journalists at Bong'onta primary in his neighbouring constituency, Ogutu said  Magoha's remarks are meant to taint Kisii county in a bad image ahead of the Kenya national exams scheduled to begin soon.

" It is very wrong for Magoha to say that our County is notorious with cases of exam cheating instead he should have been specific on schools which have recorded such cases in the past." Sayed  Ogutu.

Ogutu used the chance to urge parents and guardians in the country to give exam candidates ample time during this season.

"My appeal to all Kenyans parents is to please give your children ample time as they prepare to sit for their final exams which is to commence soon." Urged Ogutu.

Ogutu further advised this year's candidates to disassociate themselves from circulating fake exam papers.

"If there would be any kind of circulation of fake examination papers I wish to appeal to all candidates to stay away from such because it will be better for them to have their results out than to have them cancelled." Ogutu said.

Ogutu's sentiments comes a few weeks after the KNEC chair George Magoha said  Kisii County is among counties which are under surveillance for being associated with having a history of exam malpractices.
